Red velvet cupcakes are one of my weaknesses--who doesn't love a rich moist miniature cake with delicious cream-cheese frosting?
Besides red velvet cupcakes, red velvet dresses are also one of my weaknesses. I wore this beautiful maroon skater style dress to the kick-off event at Express for Teen Vogue Fashion University. Whenever I wear this dress I can't help but continue to pet myself because it's so soft! Velvet is definitely one of my favorite textures to play around with in the fall. I paired the dress with a black floppy fedora from Urban Outfitters and my trusty vintage necklace. As for shoes, I zipped on my go-to black heeled booties that I've been wearing practically everyday.
Do you want to incorporate velvet into your wardrobe but aren't daring enough to wear a complete velvet dress? No worries! Look for pieces that have velvet but not as much--whether it's a velvet skirt, a crop top or a pair of boots. Velvet can easily make its' way into your wardrobe in a more subtle way.
This Friday was the start to Teen Vogue Fashion University which was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I attended the kick-off party at Express and had such an amazing time! I met so many fellow fashion enthusiasts who share some of the same dreams and aspirations that I have. It was so inspirational standing around such motivated and well..fabulously dressed people. At the event, Express and Teen Vogue had delicious appetizers, desserts, and mocktails being served--I think I ate a few too many of those macarons. The event also had a beauty-bar where you could get your hair done and a fun photo booth!
And if the night couldn't get any better..I met the beautiful Elaine Welteroth who is the beauty and health editor for Teen Vogue! I was so honored to talk to someone who is so inspirational to me and she gave me such great tips.
